Casting lessons are offered on a request basis and can help anglers with anything from a double-haul to prepare you for your next trip to the flats to spey casting for your next steelhead trip.
We prefer to host classes on the water so we can ensure we are learning in an environment that is most similar to the conditions that you will likely experience on your trip. In certain situations we can make exceptions and hold the class at a park near the shop.
We do ask that student taking casting lessons have their own rod, reel, and fly line, ideally the setup you will be fishing on your trip, so you can become familiar with your rod before getting on the bow of the skiff.
Classes are offered out of both our Minturn and Lone Tree locations, however we do have certain guides who specialize in spey casting so we only offer two hander classes out of the Lone Tree location.
We do also offer casting lessons for those looking to hone their skills here on local rivers and can help you to perfect the roll cast, water haul, or dry fly false cast to name a few, however we do recommend that anglers looking to learn more about freshwater fishing book a guided trip so as to have a more complete experience on the water with the guide.
