Orvis Pro Wader Review

Looking for some new waders? We’ve got a good one to consider- here’s an Orvis Pro Wader Review.

The Orvis Pro Wader is the perfect wader for anyone looking to jump into the high-end wader market. Orvis is one of the most tenured and trusted names in the fly fishing industry and they pulled out all the stops when making the guide approved Pro series wader. These waders are full of useful features with integrated knee pads, mesh back gravel guards and storage pockets being my favorite.

All of this is brought to you in a durable 5-layer lower/4-layer upper package ready for +200 days a year on the water and making these a true 4-season wader. The Orvis Pro Waders are backed by the Orvis 25 year guarantee making them a wader you can count on for many years.

Key Features of the Orvis Pro Wader

• Knee Pads
The integrated knee pads are probably my favorite feature because it allows me to take a knee and lower my silhouette to sneak up on our weary front range fish. They also let me take a knee while landing and handling fish so I can get them unhooked and released back to the water as safely as possible.

• Mesh Back Gravel Guard
Weather you are float or wade fishing, the mesh back gravel guards allow water to drain out of the guard to keep the boat dry or your car clean when moving from spot to spot.

• Storage Pockets
There is a water-resistant external pocket which is great for a small fly box, tippet or other terminal tackle as well as and folding internal pocket perfect for phones, keys, fishing licenses and another valuables. The waders also have a lined kangaroo pocket to keep the hands warm and for extra storage.

The Orvis Pro Waders come in at $598 and the front-zip option is $749. The Orvis Pro line comes in a wide range of sizes, as well as, a women’s version tailored to specifically to a woman’s fit. These waders are a great addition to anyone’s arsenal who wants a quality product that will last them for many years.
