The Dalai Lama (or Dolly Llama) is a popular, articulated streamer fly known for its realistic, flowing movement, featuring a heavy conehead for fast sinking and a long body of rabbit or craft fur strips that pulse and breathe in the water, mimicking baitfish and triggering aggressive strikes from large trout, steelhead, and bass. Its design, using a second hook connected by wire, creates a serpentine action, making it effective when stripped or swung, with variations like the Mini or Micro for smaller, pickier fish or lighter rods.
